1938 – Wale, Herbert

Herbert Wale (40), of 14, Worksop Rd, Mastin Moor, was a native of the village and had lived there all his life. He had been working at the Markham Colliery for about 10 years, but had been employed by the Staveley Coal and Iron Company all his working life. He leaves a widow and two daughters.
The commemoration took place on 16th September 2019. The location of the artwork dedicated to Herbert can been seen here. Zone 3
