1938 –  SAMUEL FREDERICK BRAY, Haulage Hand, 20

Samuel Frederick Bray lived at 9 Hartington Cottages, Staveley and was a single man.  His funeral service was conducted in the Trinity Methodist Church by the Rev. S. A. Price.  The hymns ‘Rock of Ages’ and ‘Jesus Lover of my Soul’ were sung.  One of the chief mourners was his father who was injured in the disaster, but had just been discharged from hospital.  He was buried at Staveley cemetery.
