1938 – GEORGE WHITLEY, Ripper, 43
George Whitley of 115 Pipe Lane, Staveley, was a former member of Staveley Woodthorpe Church choir when resident at Seymour. He had worked for the Staveley Company since leaving school. George Whitley left a widow and a son, Geoffrey. He was buried at Staveley.

Mr. George Whitley (43) of 115 Pipe Lane, was a former member of Staveley Woodthorpe Church choir when resident at Seymour. Before moving to Pipe Lane early this year he lived for a time in The Populars, Staveley. He had worked for the Staveley Company since leaving school.
