Albert Bell of 4, Victoria Road, Staveley was the son of Mr and Mrs W. Bell of Pit Houses, Lighton Road, Marsh Lane. It is understood that he had handed in his notice to leave Markham Colliery the weekend of the accident to go to the Renishaw Park Colliery. He had been married for two years. His father was formerly a miner employed by the Staveley Company, he was buried at Staveley.
