1937 – Baggaley, Edward

1937 – EDWARD BAGGALEY, Stallman, 35
Edward Baggaley was born in Chesterfield in 1902. He had only been at Markham Colliery for three months and had previously worked for seventeen years at Holmewood Colliery. He left a widow, Ellen, and three children Raymond, Kathleen and Helen, (Annie, a twin, died at birth). At the time of the disaster Edward and his family were living at 58 Park Street, Birdholme, Chesterfield. Edward was a keen Labour supporter and helped the Rother Ward Labour Party in their elections. Councillor Mrs A Wright and members of the Party headed the cortege at the funeral in Hasland Cemetery.
